This watch box is made with Western Maple burl. The visible edges of the box, when opened, as well as the grid inside the box are made from Burmese teak . This AAA grade teak is the last of the material I purchased the late 1970s when I was building interiors and custom sailboats and was legal to obtain at that time.
The interior material and watch pillows is moire obtained from a custom fabric supplier in New Orleans that sources the material from France. The beautifully made hinges are from northern Ireland.
The lid handle is a hand cut shaped and polish piece of petrified, palm wood.
