This uniquely shaped vase measures about 7 1/2" x 2 1/2" and ~4 1/2" high. It holds a 1" diameter glass tube . It is made from a single piece of  very old and rare walnut root burl. The "root" of a walnut tree is that portion that grows below ground and under the tree trunk.

The wood this bastogne walnut  vase is made from had originally been destined to be made into a rifle stock by a local company before I purchased it. It is a grade AAA piece with three single 1" diameter glass tubes.
