Many of the boxes displayed below are urns. Each one built upon request for a specific individual.
One of these boxs was commissioned for "Ziggy" a rather large Iguana of eleven years of age. Twenty one individual hand cut and polished jade stones were cut and oriented on the top of the box to replicate the pattern at the side of Ziggy's cheeks.
The Zebra wood gull-wing clam boxes were just for fun.
The wood for most of these boxes was re-sawed thin and the pieces laminated in order to stabilize it. This technique, while time consuming, creates a box that is less prone to movement from atmospheric changes.
