This is Royal Sahara Jasper at its finest. Displaying a world within worlds, earth elements for biophillic design. There is a need to explore, to imagine what we see in this piece. As I carved away the outer layers of this piece I was captured by its minute changes, a revolving story of earth creative.
This Jasper was discovered in 2006 by a lapidary couple during a gem rock hunt in the Eastern Sahara desert in Africa. The difficulties they encountered including the desert environment with 140 degree temperatures, the remote location far from civilization and supplies and the logistics of getting the many pounds of rocks back to the U. S. dictates that this stone is the most expensive of Jasper's for a Lapidary to obtain.
This piece measures 1 1/2" x 1 3/8" x ~3/8"
