Imperial jasper pendant
This is a Imperial jasper pendant. I hand cut, shaped and polished this piece from the only single slab I owned. Having collected and shaped rocks for over fifty years I found this piece particularly stunning. The patterns of color in this piece remind me of some of the Japanese paintings I have admired.
This material is mined about 50 miles northwest of Guadalajara, Mexico. It is considered to be one of the five finest jaspers known.
This piece measures about 2 7/8" long x 1 1/8" at it widest and about 5/16" thick and is fitted to an 18" sterling silver Omega cable with a high quality magnetic clasp.
